General Information about The Studio

The Piano Studio of Janna Gainulin in Arlington Heights, Illinois offers Piano Readiness Classes for young beginners, as well as quality piano lessons to students of all ages/abilities.

My Mission  - is to provide high quality and reasonably priced lessons. I seek to provide excellence for lifelong arts learning and to impact the community.

Curriculum  - the program might be built on the next three options:
  • The AIM Syllabus provided by the ISMA (Illinois State Music Teachers Association), a division of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association)
  • Method books an examples, John Thompson, Russian school of Piano Playing by Natanson, etc.
  • Individual Learning Plan (ILP)

Private Piano Lessons  - are offered weekly in 30, 45, or 60 minute sessions, depending on the student’s age/level.  Students are expected to practice daily on a well-maintained acoustic piano.  As part of taking private lessons, students are provided with a variety of studio opportunities.  Please contact me for current tuition rates.  See Forms here.

Early Childhood or Special Need Lessons  - are for students 3-6 years old or students with special needs.   These lessons are 30 minutes private lessons.   Quaterly bonus group lessons are included and replace their regular lesson for that week.  See Forms here.

Extra Lesson - 30 minute extra lesson in addition to the rotating or private lesson tuition.  Extra lesson tuition is due upon scheduling and is subject to availability.  See Forms here.

Summer Music Camps - are held each year during the summer!  They are generally open to both students currently taking piano lessons or those who are not.

Interview for Registration  - there will be an interview with prospective students and parents/guardians. I request and recommend to do it. Adult students do not need parents at the interview. The interview provides an opportunity to assess student interest, background, and aptitude, and to allow students and teacher to meet. During the interview students will be assessed for ability to concentrate, attention span, music cognition, ability to imitate rhythms and pitches, coordination skills and social interaction.  See Forms here.

Location  - Lessons will take place at My Home Studio on 617 S Highland Ave, Arlington Heights. You may use my driveway to park your car, or I can travel to your home location (preferably within 5 miles from my house).
